Thick Warm Crocheted Winter Hat
Thought I'd commented on this one, but I see I haven't. It deserves a comment though. It's easy for an intermediate crocheter, and accessible to beginners (you need to be able to pay attention to stitch count for the first 2 rows). I use this one a lot because it works up so quickly in any worsted yarn and the finished product looks as if you spent weeks on it, so it makes great gift. One note on it -- not a down side at all, but a consideration. It really is a large, thick, warm hat, just like the title says, and only comes in one size. If you're looking for a slightly lighter weight hat, or a smaller size, order the rugged mountain series. The Stonehenge one especially looks fantastic, works up fast, and once you get past the increases, the pattern is mindless, so you can whip one up in an evening while watching TV.
