HOW TO TEST PATTERNS FOR THE CROCHET GARDEN

Currently, the Crochet Garden Testing will take place through email, Ravelry, and the Testing Forum !

Expectations During Testing:

  • Post photos to Ravelry or send them to testing@crochetgarden.com.
  • Send email or post to thread all corrections, comments, questions
  • Need both the written text and the stitch chart checked (if applicable). If you are a text-person only, that is fine, but do let me know so I do have people with eyes on the chart :)
  • Post to thread or email to confirm receipt of pattern.
  • If sending email, always keep test name of the test in the subject line as well as the version you have.
  • Check stitch counts, order of operations, and grammar errors, etc. Basically, if you were purchasing this pattern, I want to know every single thing wrong with the pattern or every single thing to make the pattern better! Send in errors as soon as you find them - this way if it is something that affects other sizes or testers, I can send out corrections as soon as possible.

Notes / FAQ:

  • If you signed up to test one of my designs and had to bow out, I ask that you finish that one before requesting to another.
  • You can use any yarn and color combinations you like as long as gauge is met.
  • If garment, you do not need a model to try on. However, do let me know if you do have one!
  • No need to wait until the test is complete to send or post a correction. I will be sending out emails with corrections as I get them in, as well as keeping a list of pertinent corrections in the thread (if on Ravelry), so that way, we are all up to date and no need to wait longer than needed for a correction. Again, I am looking for everything, from st counts, to typos, to formats, even your opinions on what would make the pattern better for you- give me the whole kitchen sink! :)

Expectations Upon Completion:

  1. Photo of your finished test
  2. Size, and Name of yarn AND amount used for each color
  3. Hook used to get gauge (mm size)
  4. Overall thoughts of the pattern
  5. Estimate of time it took you to make
  6. Feedback on fit (if applicable)
